Pre washing curtain fabric

I am about to make some roman blinds for a customer's kitchen. She's keen that they be washable.

Is it a good idea to prewash the fabric (curtain weight printed cotton) and the lining, and the tape too come to think of it. Anyone else done this. I do have a sample around 18" square that I could try it out on first.

So you have to either make your window glass warmer, or keep the warm moist air from touching it.
