This is just something I have been finding amuzing recently! Who are really the good guys? I mean we are all supporting and talking about people that are criminals as the good guys, it is kinda funny really! It is just cos I was getting confused the other day where we were talking about good characters and there are actually many ways this could be interpreted. So is C-Note a bad guy now?

I don't really see there as being 'good characters' and 'bad characters' - with the exception of Michael, Sucre and Kim because we don't know enough about Kim for him to have justifications about what he's done and how he is.
Although that female FBI agent makes my blood boil - she really does! How heartless can you get, wanting a kid to end up in hopsital to catch your mark? Esspecially when C-Note's one of the less-dangerous escapees (well his crime was - the fact that he is dangerous isn't relevent lol(

I know, that FBI woman is a total bitch, but I liked what Mahone said to her, he seems to have a heart when it comes to kids!!!

Yeah, I'll admit that I didn't mind Mahone as much (note that I didn't say liked him lol) when he said that.

Okay, I've changed my mind from May and can probably decide that Kim was a bad guy! But what makes a good character a good character? If someone does something bad for the greater good, does that make them good? If we're talking about good being doing the best for the greatest amount of people then that would make Michael bad because lots of people have died due to the chain reaction he put in place when he went for Lincoln (and he knows this.) But if being good is sacrificing yourself for others then he's definatly good - Lincoln and then Sara? I guess it all depends on 'good' but I can't work out what that means.

I know and in a way I think that is what makes this show interesting. Cos you find yourself liking people though you know you shouldn't! I agree with you I am not sure what classes them as "goodies" in this show and that I suppose is something that gives us something to discuss which makes it interesting!

Yeh, because we all see The 8 as good guys and we don't want them to be caught, so we see the FBI as bad! I do think Mahone is a bad guy though! Well i just don't like him really but he doesn't want to catch them to put them back in prison, he just wants to kill them all! I'm not sure whether Michael is good or bad. His intentions are always good but what happens as a result is sometimes bad. But he does feel remorse for it all, so i guess that makes him good really.

I am not sure that he "wants" to kill them! I see it more as he is being forced to kill them. Fair enough the 1st too were pretty harsh and he seemed like he wanted to kill them. But as the season went on he seemed to think it was bad and distanced himself more and more from the actual Killing. And he did question Kim on the killings towards the end.... think it was more of a means to an end rather than "wanting" to. But that is just me.
T-Bag is a really horrible ("bad") person - killing, raping etc. but people like him!

Yeh I think T-Bag is the only really bad criminal, because everyone else stole or something or was innocent! But T-Bag's crimes where quite evil.

Haywire wasn't innocent
*wonders yet again why everytime I try to defend T-Bag I attack Haywire when he's my second favourite*
It made me giggle after Bad Blood when people kept going "ohh, but I don't want to like him!"

There's no doubt about it that nobody in Prison Break is angel - there's no white in this show; lots of dark characters and then the shadowy-inbetween ones. I guess what's classed as "good" is all circumstancial - at that moment at that time, is what the character did "good" or not. I mean in real life, Id probably call Michael a "bad" guy - fair enough, his intentions are good, he's a loyal guy and he obviously has a conscience and doesn't want all this bad stuff to happen in order to free Linc, but is that enough? I don't think so anyway.
BUT this is the world of television - the real "good guys" (aka, the Feds) are nearly always painted as being tainted people in shows like this and what with the main characters being painted as good guys, you need to balance it out. I'm sure in reality we'd all be urging the Feds to capture The 8!
now what makes a "good" character is a whole other issue....

Well yeh in REAL life it would be different because we would want criminals to be caught and taken out of society. One thing i've always wondered was would people (in the show) find the escapees attractive knowing they are criminals? Because you would normally!
