So I ran into this guy on my bike. I had to pay him 1700 dollars otherwise he threatened to sue me. I made him sign a paper with a witness that said I had paid him the entire amount, and asked him to produce a copy of the invoice. He says he went to another mechanic and doesn't have the invoice. If he lied to me about the cost of everything, can I take him to small claims court and sue him for the costs if he was in fact lying for some kind of fraudulent claim?
