What is more sweet tea or coff

from past i never drank coffee i only used to drink tea, and of course tea tastes sweet, but from recently i have been drinking instant coffee and it doesnt seem to be sweet at all even though i add 1 spoon of sugar to 1 boiled cup of milk, looks as if there is no sugar added, it tastes bitter so i dont like it
so what do u think of the taste of coffee is it really sweet or i may be preparing it wrongly
