I need some good fiction books to read. Last time i posted i got some good responses, so im hoping for more of the same. What i want: 1) Something that is long (~300, preferably 400+ pages). 2) Something that will make me think, and is not your 'normal' predictable fiction. 3) ANY genre. Ive read all of Dan Brown, Robert Jordan, Michael Crichton, George R R Martin, Stephen King, Alexandre Dumas, Orson Scott Card, et al. Some of my comments on specific genre if you have ideas for me. Fantasy: Yes ive read Goodkind (slightly blegh). Any authors similar to Martin and Jordan (very detailed authors) are good. Horror: Strain series was good. Most of Kings stuff is good (i do not like some of his short stories, a little over the edge for me). Sigler's stuff is too easy to read but entertaining. SciFi: I have read more "bad books" then good ones. Scott Card is good. Crichton is good. Trying to think of the other author i like. Mind is blank, but series has a word in all the books that is like "Orion" or somesuch 'O' word.. Those are the main 3 genres I have read. I have also read MOST classical stuff (books everyone should read) and a scattering of books from other genres. I am not keen on alot of this new fiction that has been out past couple years. IE: There is a detective/cop/etc that something happens to and at the end they always win, predictable books. I am not a fan of westerns. Not due to the setting etc, but because they are fairly predictable as well. ________ plumbers burgess hill| electrician worthing
