As an avid gamer myself, I can say that Carr-Chellman is absolutely correct in claiming that nearly all of the games made specifically for education are vastly inferior to popular games. There are however a number of brilliant games that could be brought into the classroom for a number of purposes. The addictively popular and critically acclaimed Civilization series on PC is filled with historical and philosophical references, and encourages critical and strategic thinking.
