What does freedom of the press

We in this country have developed a dislike of the press over the years because of their negativity and because they feel that for them it is more important to make the news instead of reporting it,How many innocent people they have put in jail?We watch and read these host and reporters everyday slant the news to fit their own agenda.One of their shining glory has to be getting a man who is not fit to be a mayor of a small city elected as our President ,I know to me they deserve a beating .They have vilified the Tea Party as a bunch stupid racist and only print negative thing about them ,it is disgusting.What makes me laugh is their arrogance in Egypt ,they have gone into the streets sticking mica-phones and cameras in the faces of anti government protesters reporting everything positive about them and only negative about pro government ,then when the government crack down on them , move them off the street and even threw a beating to a few that we wish we could do here ,they cry how dare they we are the press you can not do that to us.The only thing I regret is they do not film some of those beating ,I would like to know why no pics. of what they look like after the beating ,they show you everything else,makes you wonder if it happened at all .Freedom of the press someone has got to rein them in a bit .It will never happen in our lifetime .
