I think he's possibly just an experiment, it'll probably turn out that this was the whole point of the conspiracy!!!

Aldo must have had a key roll in TC and I'm sure in Series 3 we will see
flashbacks to explain why Michael has been sent to Sona.
In the blood could mean some sort of experiment Aldo took part in before
Michael or even Linc was born. Michael being a genius may have something to do with it.

Could end up being something really simple as working out how to make prisons more secure so that no more TC prisoners ever get out again - if Michael can't manage to escape it then they'd probably think that other's couldn't either; hence why they want him to escape.
