Big picture here (or even little one) - was Tweener important? Did the storylines need him? Would it have been worse if he wasn't there? Would it have been better?
I don't think he was too important. He had the role of 'I'm not really too guilty' which could be filled with Sucre and his 'did it for love' excuse for his (very polite) robberies. He had the role of 'I'm in hell in prison' which was filled with Seth very well thankyou. He had the role of 'relationship post break' and T-Bag, Michael and Sucre all filled in that bit. He had the role of convict murdered by TC but Haywire and Abruzzi had that filled down pat. He had the role of... well was there anything else?
He was entertaining at times and he did move the Michael and T-Bag dynamic along so I'm not sure if I'll say yes or no but what do you guys think?

No I don't think there ever was. I tried to think about what he did and he didn't really help out much and was just there in the background. He ratted them out to Bellick and then escaped with them. There wasn't really much point to him I suppose!

Hummm, he did rat them out to Bellick which got that bit moving a bit. Although Abruzzi and Haywire were killed by Mahone he showed Mahone's story a bit with the whole mad ranting speach thing Mahone did and showed a change in the way Mahone went about trying to kill the others - taked Haywire into doing it for him and also distanced himself with the rope giving to C-Note too.
Not sure!
