Everyone probably already knows this or there'll be a thread somewhere that i've missed but, D.B Cooper is a real person. He hi-jacked a plane and got a ransom of $200.000 They never caught the real D.B Cooper but he did the same as our late D.B Cooper, jumping out of the plane with the money. Wow, I didn't actually know that! That Wiki is really interesting! Love the fact the plane was being tracked by jet fighters he got out unnoticed! And the fact they changed the design of the stairs and named it after him. Thanks for tell us about it!

Oh I've just read in the paper today that Wiki gets people falsifying info and isn't totally correct. Apparently they had hens defined as killing machines (or something like that).
But my friends dad is called David Benjamin Cooper!!!! He's a postman!

Now are you sure he didn't jump out of a plane with a load of money!!!  I only know about really cos I was flicking through channels one night and heard the name D.B Cooper so i left it on thinking it was something to do with PB.(but it wasn't) It was called the FBI files. I only remembered about it today. So i thought i'd tell you guys. I'm gonna go hunting and see if any of the other characters are based on real people!!! I'll let you all know if i find anything!!! |

I knew DB was a real person after I saw them use his 'character' in a movie. So I think he'll probably be the only one based on a real person (though it would be interesting if I'm wrong)

daisyp - you are right some of the wikis are bad cos they are updated by anyone so things may not be true. But it is usually easy to check what is true and what isn't. People just need to remember not to believe everything they read! Does worry me that it has become so popular and maybe some people don't know that it is not necessarily all kosha (so to speak) and use it in the research or school projects - books and jurnals are usually checked by various experts before they are published so they are taken to be better!

The Episode with D.B Cooper is on tonite. (I think) it says its the one about the plane Hijacker so i'm guessing its about him. 12.05 on ch 5

No it was a documentary but the second half is on next tues i think, but i bloody missed it anyway. Luckily i got it recorded, well i hope i did anyway.

Well I missed it so you will have to tell us more about it when you watch it! Don't you hate that when they do a 2part thing like that. I don't watch TV that much - PB is the main thing - other than that if it is not a series I will get into a 2part thing really bugs me cos I am never in the same day the next week or I forget!
