You off anywhere nice havealittlefaith? That sucks that you guys'll both miss the finale though, you'll have to watch it hwen you get back =) I've no holiday plans for the summer at the mo. Might decide to go away for a weekend or something just in-country with some mates (hurrah for being able to drive!). My err funds are dwindling after my trip to LA last month, worth every penny though ;D Have some great memories, saw some great places and made a few new friends

haha yeah! It was a college media/film studies trip, we went for a week and stayed at the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel. It was in the perfect location, the street it was on backed onto Hollywood Blvd so we were like 2 mins walk from Manns Chinese and right next door to Hollywood & Highland (shopping mall! + where the Kodak Theatre is). We spent most of our free time and nights just walking down Hollywood Blvd, eating somewhere different every night, lots of retail therapy haha. It's fantastic for shopping, so cheap!
Places we went to while we were there;
The Getty Museum (gorgeous views from the top but I'm not really into art so the art gallery bit was a bit meh but the buildings are stunning)
Santa Monica - we didn't spend much time on the pier/beach though there isn't much there really. We were all well impressed with Bubba Gump Shrimp though haha (I'm a BIG Forrest Gump fan so was in my element in the shop!). Santa Monica's lovely for shopping too though in the actual city part - it's really pretty and very clean. Wish we'd had more time there
Venice Beach - it's HUGE! Didn't see any muscle men though, however there was a guy selling "reggae for children" and another walking on glass. Lots of very weird and quirky people, nice way to spend the afternoon just strolling down the front. Gets a bit chilly though!
Universal Studios - the backlot tour is quite interesting (the best bit for me was that they had the actual Bates Motel and the big house at back from Psycho, and Janet Leigh's car from it). There's some ace rides too (though they tended to break down on us! Or just not work...). The Mummy and Back To The Future are a must! Also outside of Universal there's Universal City Walk which again - shopping! We were there at night and it was all lit p and stuff it looked really cool. Again very pretty and very clean.
Warner Bros Studios - this was probably one of my favourite bits of the trip. We got to sit in Central Perk (I LOVE Friends!) and walk around and take pictures of some of the outside sets (ER! ;D). The guy also took us inside and through the whole Gilmore Girls set but none of us were familiar with the show so it didn't really mean anything to us. I've heard of it but never seen it. They also have this museum thing where they have lots of props and costumes from all kinds of shows (Friends, ER, The OC, One Tree Hill, a whole floor of Harry Potter stuff). They had some other film stuff too, Leonardo Di Caprio and Mark Wahlberg's costumes from The Departed. Only downside was "you can't take pictures and you can't touch anything".
Disneyland - there's 2 theme parks but we only had tickets for one so had to choose, we went for actual Disneyland (as opposed to California Adventure). It was very much for kids though (like younger ones) the rides are all really tame. BUT it has the upside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride ;D That was worth it just for that.
We also went on a tour of Beverly Hills like with a guy in a bus and stuff which was loads of fun, took us to los of celeb houses (well...gates!) and like various places where things happened, people died (nice!) and just quirky little stories. And film locations. That's was really fun actually! ;D
Aaaand I think that was it! Even the bus rides to and from places were nice though cause it's not like how I imagine the US. I just think lots of tall buildings but LA isn't like that at all cause it's just really hilly and very green. Everything's really pretty! I'd contemplate going back again some time so that I could like explore places in my own time and go to different places outside of Hollywood, but I don't see it as somewhere you could go again and again cause it'd just be the same over and over.
I'll shush now cause I think this is kinda long!

Oh you have to one day! I wouldn't be able to go in the summer mind, it was perfect weather then - just hot enough. I'd melt if I went in August! First time abroad so it's gonna take some beating. I'd love to go New York some day though.

Vegas looks cool! I'd wanna go to NY in the winter though - I'd love to see it in the snow ;D
I know everybody says it but I'd love to do the whole road-trip across America thing. Would need tons of money though :-\ I dunno just after watching Elizabethtown I sat thinking *wow* y'know? Miles and miles of open roads with lots of little places to stop off along the way, windows down with some chilled out music - I'd love that. I really want to go to New Zealand too ;D

I'm not going on an actual holiday but have loads of weekends away planned. Went to Scarborough last weekend, off to Cork at the end of this month, Leeds in June and then Dublin in July, and have booked London for December. I love going on holiday though but I like beach holidays where you laze around all day and go out and get trashed all night.
