After mentioning in the hi/bye thread about having my lip pierced and a couple of people saying they would never get piercings I just had to ask.... Does anyone else have any piercings or tattoos.
I love piercings and i'd get loads but after having my eyebrow pierced 3 times (it grew out everytime) I've limited myself and I only have a few.
Lip Tongue 4 in each ear and a small tattoo.
What do you have, or are you just too scared???

I've got one in each ear - although they've been done twice. The first time my right ear covered the hole with scar tissue so my earings are now lopsided

lol, I love my piercings, but I didn't find out till afterwards that a lip piercing is the most painful of all of them. And it takes up to four months to heal.
My tattoo is a different story, I almost passed out when he did it. I was agony, but totally worth it. So much so i'm gonna get another!!! lol

No piercings, no tattoos. I don't really see the appeal to be perfectly honest. The only thing I'd contemplate is getting my ears pierced I guess.

My tattoo is a chinese symbol that means love. It's not very big, but I like it. My next one is gonna be my kids name on my back.
I got the top of my ear done, it doesn't hurt at all. You should do it.

I have two earings in each ear and that is it. But can I give you a wee warning to those that like piercing? My Bother-in-law is a doctor and he always said that belly button rings were bad and caused an extensive amount of internal scar tissue which can cause other internal problems. But the other day I saw something bad in the news: www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article2570494.ecePretty bad and where I say it had photos which was rather grim! Also I knew a guy that had his nipple pierced and he was playing volleyball and his nipple split in half! He said that was very painful! LOL, not trying to put you off! Sorry!

Apparently a girl I went to college with had a err... slightly more personal area than her nipple pierced and she went horseriding and the bumpiness of that ripped the ring out

LOL, not trying to put you off! Sorry! lol. I don't think I could be put off. I've got the only ones I want now. I don't think I could ever get anywhere below the neck pierced. Not even my belly button. I read about that the other day. It was shocking!!! There is some really bad horror stories. I stupidly didn't find out anything about it and relied on my friend for help. She only told me to clean it. With what??? She never told me so I had a look on the net. I read about a guy who had his tongue pierced and had taken it out. He then accidentally re-pierced it twice in the wrong place, and had 3 holes in his tongue. I felt seriously ill after that!! But the horror stories never make me wanna take them out. My friend has 15 piercings. 5 in her lip, nose, eyebrow, bridge of her nose both nipples, belly button and 4 in her ears. And she wants more. I also read an interview with an ex band singer and she explained that most people with piercings have them for personal reasons and I totally agree with this article... What does the piercing mean to you now?
For me my piercing is very personal, I didn't didn't do it to impress anyone or because I'm in a rock band, it's a symbol of a major transition in my life. I would never take it out, on the occasions when I've taken it out to change the jewellery or something it feels as if a part of me is missing. Since I've had the piercing people have seen mine and have gone out and had the piercing just to copy me, but afterwards they've said that the experience made them realise that it's more than a fashion statement; it physical statement of self empowerment.I mean I have my reasons, about 3 in fact but I suppose it's personal preference really. Here's the whole article.... www.bmezine.com/pierce/articles/ptafter/lip.html(Rant is over!!!)

I totally agree with you, people that I know that have got things pierced (other than their ears) and tattoos are for totally personal reasons. I just chicken out! There was a time that I wanted to get my nose pierced but just couldn't go through with it and now the time has past.
You are right there are a lot of horror stories out there and maybe that is why I always get put off- I am a wee bit feable! My sister and brother-in-law are both doctors too so it is hard to stomach it when they tell you stuff! But I would never have thought the belly button ring could do that!
