So not only can they survive pretty bad car crashes but...
Half of them can hear a tiny sound which if you are honest would you hear? The other week Linc heard the casing from a bullet and this week Michael heard a tiny rock fall when they were all talking amoungst themselves, to name but a few cases. Plus he could hear Sara on the phone just after the crash when the phone was miles away and surely blood would be rushing in his head and there was a massive fire next to him!
When I was thinking about this last night I thought of something else that they seemed to be superhuman at but I can't remember what it was. Maybe sight?? They seem to notice tiny thing but don't think that is what I was thinking of!
Anyway anyone else begining to think these guys are superhuman?

I thought that Michael noticed small things because of his condition But I doubt that they'd end up 'superhuman' just unrealistic (like Mahone lol)

LOL
What is Michael's condition that everyone talks about? But it is not just him that seems to have extra sensitive hearing etc!

This probably wasn't what you'd thought of but I find it pretty superhuman that the convicts can go several days, seemingly, without any sleep!

They go without sleep but apart from in the first episode have any of them eaten anything??? How the hell are they surviving?? But it is weird that they seem to hear everything.

Yeah especially when Linc didn't hear the gun being fired, but instead heard the shell casing falling to the floor lol

Oh I think I know what it was! It is not that they didn't eat but that is a good point. How the hell are they surviving with no water! All of them are wandering around the desert with no shelter, no bag and no bottle in their hand! Where is the water??

That's a good point that's just lazy, although i think it's pretty understandable that we don't see them sleeping there's plenty more important things going on. Can you imagine a trailer for that: Episode 13, Mike and Linc have a nice kip!!!

Michael's supposed to be a genius and have 'low latent inhibition' which means he analyses things and sees possibilities in everyday items. I keep meaning to look up this and see if it really exists but I suppose this explains how when he was younger he managed to get a screw and bit of metal and unlock a door!!!
The sleeping thing annoyed me for the first few episodes and I have expressed concerns over personal hygiene before but hey, we saw C Note's wife cooking up a storm on the BBQ - well 1 sausage, and Haywire was eating beef jerky wasn't he. (Didn't Kellerman once pretend to sell this in the first series).

Yeah I think Kellerman pretended to sell Buffalo jerky, they have a thing about jerky in this show cos I think Bellick was buying it when he met up with Geary wasn't he??

I think jerky is dried meat but I might be way off base.
We saw T-Bag eating a pack of wotsits (okay cheesy puffs) in Map 1213
And before anyone thinks I've gone wrong because I remember that I was collecting the screencaps from that epi this afternoon lol.

No I remember that too cos he had to eat them one handed and he poured them into his mouth and most of them fell on the floor which I thought was really funny! Jerky is just dried meat (basically really old meat!).
It is the water thing in the desert that is annoying me though, I mean it would detract or take any time up from the show it would just make it more realistic. I remember them having water once but that was ages ago.
Thanks Daisyp for the info on Michael think that must have been early on so didn't know what they were saying it was!

Hey - went on that wikiki encyclopedia thing and it came up with this on low latent inhibition ... and even mentions Michael Low latent inhibition Most people are able to shut out the constant stream of incoming stimuli, but those with low latent inhibition cannot. It is hypothesized that a low level of latent inhibition, or LLI, can cause either psychosis or a high level of creativity, which is usually dependent on the subject's intelligence. Those of above average intelligence are thought to be capable of processing this stream effectively, an ability that greatly aids their creativity and ability to learn and which categorizes them as almost creative geniuses. Those with less than average intelligence, on the other hand, are less able to cope, and so as a result are more likely to suffer from mental illness. Recently, two highly developed cases of low latent inhibition have been detected in New Delhi, India. However, their identities have been kept secret to prevent discrimination. High levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine (or its agonists) in the brain are thought to lower latent inhibition. In popular culture Michael Scofield, the protagonist of the television show Prison Break, is clinically diagnosed with low latent inhibition. His above-average intelligence combined with this personality trait makes him a genius, allowing him to make an incredibly detailed and cryptic plan (encrypted in a tattoo) to break his brother, Lincoln Burrows, out of prison.

There was a bit about this on TV last night. Apparently some of those affected have the obsession to grab hold of and touch things they see and like. Begs the question, why hasn't Michael grabbed hold of Sara yet ? That quick kiss in the infirmary didn't count because he was after her keys......... ...............wasn't he ??
